Poem #2

Is it true that I left

No, we’re just playing hide and seek

Move your fingers away from your eyes

Look at me and smile

I suppose you left

No, we’re just playing hide and seek

I am counting, facing the wall in my old alley

Counting loudly by tens

And like a rainbow, days are bright

To be easier to find yourself

It's so pleasant to see my native Russian in the American surroundings. And Bulat Okudjava! He was our student's bard, somebody always had a guitar and sitting on the steps of our dormitory's staircase, we sang his warm, tender, sometimes satirical or romantic, and always smart Okudjava's song. "We all need one victory, we won't stand for the price," comes to me right now. Thank you so much for such a tender nostalgic theme!
