I don't watch that show, but I think your poem is evocative and powerful, the language sounds biblical. Chen, don't ever call your writing 'idiotic', there's nothing idiotic or mediocre about it, don't be dismissive of your gift.
Why do you call your poem idiotic if you keep it and offer it to your readers again after publishing it in June 2024? Something in the poem still interests you, doesn't it? So, please, don't call it idiotic, or we, your readers, come to think maybe she is right. Very interesting and lyrical interpretation of Salem's story.
No, this one was written now. "The Blood Lady", the one linked inside, was written in June 2024.
To me, one doesn't negate the other -things can be idiotic yet interesting still.
For example I'm an idiot. Sometimes. It is a very human condition. It doesn't mean that nobody likes me or never relates. Or that I've no redeeming qualites. Or that noone should ever see me (even though it does feel like a better idea, sometimes)
But I hear everybody, starting with my husband who is really irked about this "idiotic" thing.
I feel your poem casting its spell, Chen. I don’t normally believe in witches or spells, but I toss a bit of salt over my shoulder just in case. And I have learned that the witches and wise crones moving among us often cloak their power by making people think they have nothing to fear. Is it your birthday?
Chen, Very cool poem - song! I enjoyed reading it and it made me think of Salem, which is not far from where I live.
Thank you very much, Pamela -and big thank you for the restack 💫🤍
You are so welcome, Chen!

I am realistic, but you're too kind, a gift yourself

It was, yes.
Thank you, Paul 🩵
And yes, it is partially also about constantly cloaking one's power as if one possesses it in the first place.
oh and thank you so much for sharing it ✨✨✨
big thank you for sharing this, David 🩵
