-"was a typical Tuesday night" is the line from Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me" (song that I love because my kids sang it in the car when little)
-the song mentioned in the end is "Негодяй и Ангел" sang by "Наутилус Помпилиус", very popular rock band from Soviet times -I knew many of their songs by heart when in high school, I might still remember some.
-the image is taken from the clip "Plus Grandir" by Mylene Farmer-first time I ever I saw it was in my friends' house, they talked me into watching, "you're going to love her", that's how I discovered she existed at all, which lead me later to want to understand the lyrics, thus, learn French
(this, and the fact my grandfather spent 6 years or so in France in his youth. My greatfather was and remains a huge influence on me, in general. Even if these are things I partially know, partially imagine, about him)
I'm outta my "Mylen Farmer" period for years now, as well as I'm outta my "Nautilus" period-yet I remember them as if yesterday.
-that's much longer than it was supposed to be)) Thank you, Portia! 🌹💫
You are so romantic ... I am curious, what makes you to create those songs- poems- ballads? Is it the past you carry? Because lightness of it makes it poetical. Sorry for questions. If it is inconvenient, forgive me.
Thank you so much, Larisa-I've no idea, actually, partially past, partially-they taught me to read early, and as my parents loved poetry, they read poetry to me as a special moments together, or if I was sick, and so I fell under spell, and often it was poems and ballads.
I myself would be reading whatever I could see, and it.could be calendars and encyclopedias too, I just was more inclined to re-read poems. I need to think.
Thank you for these memories-I cherished the times when my parents read to me, it wasn't that often, as they reasonably told me "why to read to you if you can read yourself?" so when they did- it was amazing.
Our daughter learned to read early but I kept reading to her at night even when she had reached her teens. I think we ended on East of the Sun, West of the Moon
I'm re-reading "Alias Grace" (I read it many times; including one time when I bought a huge tome to learn some more about certain conditions I was interested in, and felt like I know nothing about, with long case studies and whatnot-and then I re-read "Alias Grace" from this point of view...it was pretty fascinating)...in short, one needs to write like Margaret Atwood, to develop this convolution into something worth reading, something still convoluted yet coherent?
Or at least to write much better than me.
I don't know how others do it, seriously.
I can see, no, I know, that it's a full time job -and while it gives one joy it drains horribly.
Yes, please, Chen, what songs are they?

I think it's beautiful.
Very powerful that first one, very powerful when love goes awry.
Thank you so much, Weston, really
PS only the first one is ..whatever it is, the second one is just me talking.
Well, that's what we are, just us talking. 😉. Keep yakking away.
So, the murder was planned but never carried out? There is a movie in that story, Chen.
Yes, vaguely planned.
